In a new series of test by NCAP, the Tata Nexon has scored 4 out of 5 stars in crash tests. It is the fourth car made in India to get a four star rating following the likes of the Tata Zest, the Volkswagen Polo and the Toyota Etios. The Nexon is now the safest subcompact SUV in India.
In the latest round of crash test by the Global NCAP for Indian made cars, the Tata Nexon subcompact sub 4-metre SUV has scored a 4 Star rating. The Tata Nexon was awarded a four star for adult occupant safety and a 3 star for child occupant safety. The NCAP ran the standard frontal offset test at 64 kmph at the ADAC test lab in Munich, Germany. The test results were positive and the car shell has been termed ‘stable’ by NCAP. Mayank Pareek, President of Tata Motors’ Passenger Vehicles Business Unit said, “With these test results, the Nexon is India’s safest sub compact SUV, after being one of the most awarded models from the Tata Motors’ PV stable. The Tata Nexon comes with dual airbags standard across the range on all engine/gearbox options and all variants. The Tata Nexon also comes with seat belts with pre-tensioners, ISOFIX child seat anchorage and ABS as standard on all models. The high level of safety equipment that comes as standard is one of the reasons Tata Motors and the Nexon have received such a high score.
