As per a report by SEMrush Lamborghini, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Honda, BMW, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Kia were most searched auto brands online in India during the period Jan-June 2020.
Similarly, Kia Seltos, Tata Altroz, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Tata Harrier, Tata Tiago, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV 300, Mahindra Scorpio, and Mahindra XUV 500 were the most searched models online.
As per the study, the searches for auto brands were more of aspiration in nature to quench their curiosity and the searches for car model names were more with an intention of purchase.
The brand Lamborghini was searched an average of 5.91 lakh times while the number of Lamborghini’s sold in India number a few hundred whereas the number of searches for Kia Seltos is 7.23 lakhs while 81k units of this SUV have been sold so far in India.
As per the study Audi, which was the most popular luxury car brand in India for years, seems to have lost ground to rivals BMW, Jaguar, and Mercedes.
The study also shows that the brand Kia is soaring in India & Indian consumers have fallen in love with its offerings.
